Saturday morning, Zuri popped up out the bed,
sunshine through the window and big plans in her head.
“Grandma’s family day!” she hollered with delight.
“I’m finna see everybody. Today gon’ be just right!”
Mama fixed her collar while Zuri checked each puff.
“You ready for all those people?” “Yep... I think enough.”
“And how you saying hello?” Mama asked with a grin.
Zuri said, “Whatever feels right when I walk in.”
